Tim Hardaway - Throwback Tues.

Throwback Tuesday is becoming on of the best parts of this blog. Doing our research for the throwback athlete of the week is awesome because we here at Ballers Sports are old school to the chore. At first glance it was kind of surprising that today's throwback was even considered a throwback, I guess that's us showing our age. Todays throwback athlete is none other than Timothy Duane "Tim" Hardaway. Sit back, relax and lets take a look at #10.

Ballers Sports would like to wish every one of our readers a very happy Valentines day. Love is a beautiful thing and if you look around you should be able to celebrate some type of love in your life, because that is what Valentines day is all about.  As sports fans we all have certain sports, teams and players that we "love". In honor of this day we wanted to put together a quick list of moments that we love in sports. After you read this and if there is anything we've left out, feel free to add what you love in our comments section.

Ballers Sports - Week in Review

[caption id="attachment_606" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Kemp was this weeks throwback "][/caption]

As a sports blogger who isn't really into putting a lot of additional entertainment gossip and other things on this site we would like to keep this site for the sports purist. We are already working on some interesting and fun topics for next week but if you have an idea or would like to do a guest feature just hit us in the comments or email us at ballers.sports@gmail.com Since its going into a relatively slow sports weekend we thought we would just recap the week that was.

My Sports Journey

[caption id="attachment_644" align="alignleft" width="99" caption="Oh to be 16 again."][/caption]

When you decide to become a blogger and write your views for others to read one thing you will soon realize is that if you don't have a network of fellow bloggers to surround you then you will  soon be a thing of the past. I have began to surround myself around some very creative writers who have carved their own niche into the blogosphere. Shout out to my homie Eddie Maisonet creator of http://www.edthesportsfan.com. He shared with me the first post he wrote back in 2008 and this post is inspired by that. Keep doing your thing bro.

What We Learned from SB XLV

Superbowl XVL will be remembered for Aaron Rodgers catapulting himself into the upper echelon of NFL Quarterbacks. The Packers beat the Steelers in what I would call a very good but not great game, which is fine by me because not every Superbowl can be great. So, what else did we learn from the Superbowl?

Shawn Kemp - Throwback Tues.

[caption id="attachment_603" align="alignleft" width="120" caption="Remember these?"][/caption]

Shawn Kemp was known as the reign man in the NBA during the early 90's. Before his career ended Kemp was a All-star and a daily highlight on sportscenter. To the young kats out there Shawn Kemp was Blake Griffin before Blake Griffin was Blake Griffin. Kemp was on yesterday's post (Old School NBA - http://wp.me/p1hrP8-9w ) and we already had him pegged for this weeks Throwback Tuesday a week ago.

Old School NBA ...(To soothe your pain)

[caption id="attachment_595" align="alignleft" width="119" caption="We love our old school dunks"][/caption]

Yes I know our dear football season is gone. ... And I know there is a strong possibility that there might not be football again for next year. ... Welp the silver lining is that there are still other sports going on. The violence of game day experience of football will be missed but we here at Ballers Sports have a special gift for you. To get your appetite wet for the NBA we have assembled some of our favorite NBA highlights of the past.

Class of 2011 - HoF

[caption id="attachment_576" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="6 New Inductees are headed to Canton"][/caption]

Ballers Sports congratulates this years class of Hall of Fame inductees. This class includes one of my favorite players of all-time, Deion Sanders who was the definition of a shut-down corner. This guy was before his time, he was in my opinion the first athlete to successfully understand the balance needed be an entertainer and an athlete. Sanders is joined by 6 other guys who enter into football immortality.

Ballers Sports Dunk of the Night - Blake Griffin

Mamma there goes that man! .. Blake Griffin is at it again. I will say this. I will give Kyle Korver credit for jumping though. That is a brave man. *slow applause* -- The Clippers eventually lost but hey at least we got more Blake Griffin highlights.  For more on Blake Griffin http://wp.me/p1hrP8-3h

Wilma Rudolph - Ballers Sports Black History Profiles

We at Ballers Sports are dedicated to celebrating Black history month and we will be profiling notable African-American athletes all month long. Today's athlete is Wilma Glodean Rudolph, a woman who succeeded despite her circumstances and became an olympic champion. My father once told me that Wilma Rudolph was a cousin of mine but I don't quite remember the exact connection. The story of Rudolph is inspiring to say the very least and we thought that she would be the perfect athlete to kick off our Ballers Sports Black History profiles.

Lil Penny - Throwback Tues.

"Thats Tyra Banks fool!" ... I'm sure many of you that followed basketball in the 90's remember when lil Penny came on the scene. Penny and Shaq were supposed to be a dominant force for 10+ years. Unfortunately Shaq left Disney world for Disney land to get his rings and Penny became a marginal player. I think Jim Rome said it best about Penny, "He's a good player with a great doll." If you've forgotten about lil Penny, lets take a trip down memory lane.
